The Spring Forum of Excellent Young Scholars of Home and Abroad at Chongqing University in 2024 (Branch Venue) was held on June 18th, in the Sixth Teaching Building at School of Electrical Engineering in Campus A. This forum aims to create a new landscape driven by talent, strengthen cooperation and exchange, and attract outstanding young talents to gather at Chongqing University. Attending this forum were Hu Jianlin, Party Secretary of the School of Electrical Engineering at Chongqing University; Xie Kaigui, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering; Wang Xiaojing, Deputy Party Secretary; as well as discipline leaders and faculty representatives.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Deputy Party Secretary Wang Xiaojing, who began by extending a warm welcome to all attending faculty members and young scholars.
At the opening ceremony, Secretary Hu Jianlin warmly welcomed and sincerely greeted the young scholars. He introduced the fundamental profile of the School of Electrical Engineering, highlighting its pivotal role within Chongqing University and outlining its future development prospects. Hu emphasized the critical importance of young scholars to the school, describing them as the hope and driving force for its future. He noted that their innovative thinking and professional expertise would provide vital momentum for the school’s academic research and educational endeavors. Furthermore, he expressed eager anticipation to attract more talented young scholars to join the school, working collaboratively to inject new vitality and innovative drive into China's grand strategic plans, Chongqing University's dynamic growth, and the school’s pursuit of world-class excellence.
Xie Kaigui provided a detailed introduction to the development history of the School of Electrical Engineering to the young scholars. The Dean noted that since its establishment in 1935, the school has maintained vigorous momentum for progress, consistently demonstrating robust development potential and boundless promise. He also further emphasized that the school holds a pivotal position within Chongqing University, which will provide significant advantages for the career development of talented individuals.
During the sub-forum, outstanding young scholars from around the world - including Tan Bendong, Sang Linwei, Tian Minghe, Wang Heshou, Liu Qingxiang, Hu Chuanhao, Yu Hao, Hu Yulong, Peng Huajiang, Yu Yanlei, Zhu Gangwei, Zou Yunyang, Meng Ziqing, Kong Xiaohan, and Sun Chu - delivered excellent academic presentations. They shared their cutting-edge research findings and the latest industry developments across multiple fields, such as power electronic systems, wireless charging systems, electromagnetic structure optimization, and superconducting technology.
The participating experts and scholars engaged in in-depth discussions with the young researchers on cutting-edge research topics and future development directions, creating a vibrant atmosphere of academic exchange.
Following the academic sessions, the school organized a visit to the State Key Laboratory of Power Transmission Equipment Technology for the young scholars. Professor Cheng Li, Deputy Director of the High Voltage and Insulation Technology Department, showcased cutting-edge laboratory equipment and outstanding research achievements. He also provided thoughtful and detailed responses to the scholars' inquiries.
The event concluded with a talent recruitment discussion between the school’s leadership, faculty, and young scholars. The leadership emphasized the school’s strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent and extended sincere invitations for the scholars to join Chongqing University's School of Electrical Engineering in the future. They will highlight the opportunity to contribute to the school’s growth and become integral members of the CQU Electrical Engineering Family. With this, the 2024 Chongqing University Forum for Outstanding Young Scholars (Electrical Engineering Sub-Forum) successfully concluded.
