The Autumn Forum of Excellent Young Scholars of Home and Abroad at Chongqing University in 2023 (Branch Venue) was held on Decembe 15th, in the Sixth Teaching Building at School of Electrical Engineering in Campus A. This forum invited 11 young talents from 9 domestic and international universities to our school for academic exchanges, aiming to explore new tracks driven by talent leadership, promote exchanges and cooperation, and facilitate outstanding young talents to join Chongqing University. The forum was attended by Professor Hu Jianlin, Party Secretary of the School of Electrical Engineering at Chongqing University, Professor Wang Mingyu, Director of the Teaching Guidance Committee and Chairman of the Trade Union, as well as heads of secondary disciplines and teacher representatives. The opening ceremony of the forum was presided over by Wang Xiaojing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
At the opening ceremony, Secretary Hu Jianlin warmly welcomed and sincerely greeted the young scholars. He also introduced the development prospects and potential of Chongqing as well as Chongqing University, along with the basic situation of the School of Electrical Engineering and its emphasis on talent cultivation. Professor Hu expressed his hope that the young scholars would closely focus on key disciplinary areas, jointly explore cutting-edge academic topics, and spark innovation in academic exchanges. He also hoped to see more outstanding young scholars join the School of Electrical Engineering, injecting new vitality into the construction of major national strategies, as well as the Double First-Class construction of Chongqing University and the School of Electrical Engineering.
Professor Yang Zhifang, representing the Department of Power Systems and its Automation, delivered an academic presentation. Professor Yang introduced the topic of high penetration renewable energy power systems, sharing insights into the physical characteristics of constructing power system unit combinations and the impact mechanisms of power system characteristics on branch-and-bound algorithms. He also exchanged views with the attending young scholars on related topics.
In addition, young scholars from around the world, including Su Yifan, Wang Siyuan, Wen Yilin, Yang Zhe, Zheng Kai, Lin Wei, Wang Xiaoqiang, Zhang Shu, Hu Borong, Hou Qinghua, and Wang Zhiyong, delivered fascinating academic presentations both onsite and online. They shared their research achievements and the latest developments in their respective fields, covering multiple research areas such as power electronic systems, multiple types of energy resources, wireless power supply systems, low-temperature industrial plasmas, and more.
Experts and scholars attending the forum engaged in in-depth discussions with the young scholars regarding hot research topics and future development directions. The atmosphere on-site was vibrant and enthusiastic.
After the presentations, the school organized a tour for the young scholars to visit the State Key Laboratory of Power Transmission Equipment Technology. Wang Xiaojing provided detailed and vivid introductions to the instruments and research achievements in each laboratory. She also gave comprehensive answers to questions raised by the young scholars.
Finally, the school leaders and faculty members engaged in talent discussions with the young scholars, expressing the School of Electrical Engineering's emphasis on talent introduction. They hoped that the young scholars would consider joining School of Electrical Engineering of Chongqing University in the future, becoming integral members of the distinguished electrical engineering community.
