On March 27, 2024, Elsevier released its highly anticipated "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list for 2023. Seven scholars from our school, including Li Wenyuan, Liao Ruijin, Jiang Xingliang, Sima Wenxia, Li Jian, Li Hui, and Zeng Zheng, were selected.
It is reported that the "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list by Elsevier relies on the citation and indexing database Scopus, a globally leading information analytics company. It deeply analyzes and identifies Chinese scholars at different stages of their research careers, systematically showcasing their research performance. In 2023, the list covered 84 primary disciplines within 10 fields designated by the Ministry of Education, with a total of 5,801 scholars from 496 universities, enterprises, and research institutions.
Due to the standardized and objective criteria of the "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list, it holds significant reference value. The list has been adopted as an important evaluation indicator for the QS World University Rankings, attracting considerable attention from both domestic and international media and scholars. The selection of our seven faculty members underscores the global impact of their research contributions in their respective fields, highlighting the excellence of our faculty at the school.
