Farewell song sings, and the dream sets sail. At 2:30 p.m. on June 28, the 2022 graduation and convocation ceremony of the School of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing University, was held in the Multifunctional Hall on Campus A. 270 undergraduate graduates, 239 master graduates and 28 doctoral graduates will start a new chapter in their lives from the day on.
Professor Hu Jianlin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electrical Engineering, Professor Xie Kaigui, Dean of the School, Professor Jiang Xingliang, Vice-chair of the Degree Evaluation Sub-committee, Professor Wu Shaoqi, Chair of the Academician Sun Caixin Education Fund Management Committee, as well as the main leaders, teacher representatives and all graduates from the school attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Wu Jia, Deputy Party Secretary of the school.
On behalf of the school, Dean Xie Kaigui sent sincere congratulations and best wishes to the graduates. He said, “The times are different. A hundred years ago, Chinese embarked on a great journey of national independence and people's liberation. A hundred years later, as a firm pioneer of a new round of learning and reform, students should be great, be good at innovation, and be willing to struggle”.
Dean Xie Kaigui encouraged the students: “The dim light turns into a torch and shines on the mountains and rivers. Everyone is youthful and with vigorous Chinese power. I wish you all a bright and confident life. I wish you all a bright and youthful life! All of you can keep your dreams in mind, walk the road on your own, and live up to your youth and the future!”
Pan Jianyu delivered a speech as the teacher representative. He shared three insights to all graduates: “The first is to be enterprising. You should keep diligent and enterprising in all your life. The second is persistence. Persistence in life will bring you closer to your dreams and turn impossible into possible. The third is ambition, which is to bear the responsibility for the country and society, breaking through the technology monopoly, and to become a leader or a founder who can make the city become better!”
Meng Wei, a Ph.D. graduate from Grade 2017, spoke as the graduate representative. He reviewed his experience in the school and called on everyone to take the sense of responsibility, making contributions to the society, and the power industry of our country.
Professor Wu Shaoqi, Chair of the Academician Caixin Sun Education Fund Management Committee, sent wishes to the 2022 graduates. "I hope the students will learn to seize up the situation, to benefit not only yourselves, but also the society. Wish you all bright as stars in the future, and Chongqing University will be proud of you.”
