2021 Global Green Development Summit (GGDS), focusing on "Energy Transition and Innovation for Carbon Neutrality ", was successfully held in Chengdu, Sichuan, September 6th to 8th, 2021.The summit was jointly organized by GLOGDA (Global Green Development Alliance), OHTC (Western China Overseas High Tech and High Talents Conference), Chongqing University and Sichuan University. Nobel Prize winners, academicians, experts, scholars in the energy industry from different countries, prestigious universities, and related professionals were invited. Based on our common goal of fighting the global climate crisis, GGDS have shared insights and visions on the future energy transition in China, the United States and Europe for decarbonization. The green development of the Chengdu-Chongqing twin-city economic circle in Western China from a global perspective, and the new power system innovations were discussed during the conference.
At 9:00 a.m. September 6th, the Summit was grandly opened at the Tianfu Hall of the Century City International Convention Center, Chengdu. Xiaofeng Zhang, President of GLOGDA and Chairman of the Summit, presided over the opening ceremony. The Summit has set up a total of 10 main and sub-forums. Arnold Schwarzenegger, Founding Chair of R20 Regions of Climate Action, Peng Fang, Co-chair and Board Member of Global Green Development Alliance, Ruijin Liao, Vice President of Chongqing University, Bin Liang, Vice President of Sichuan University, and Wenhua Chen, Deputy Director of Sichuan Provincial People’s Congress attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches online and offline, wishing the summit a success.
During the conference, the signing ceremony of Framework Agreement on International Exchange and Cooperation for Green Development and Cooperation Agreement between Traffic Brain and Green Energy Zero-carbon Planning and Operation System international cooperation projects was successfully held.
On the afternoon of September 6th, the special forum on " Green Energy Supplier & Integrated Energy System " was held. Professor Jian Li, Dean of School of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing University attended and presided over the forum.
On the afternoon of September 7th, the forum of "Green low-carbon and Smart Village" was held in the Jinsha Hall. Professor Minyu Chen, Vice Chairman of ISVC, from School of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing University, participated in the forum and shared opinions with others.
On the morning of September 8th, the special forum on "High Proportion of Renewable Integration, Electric Market & Fighting Climate Disaster" was successfully held. Professor Du Xiong, Deputy Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing University attended the forum and gave a speech.
"Internet of Things, New Energy Vehicles, Energy Storage, Demand Side Management" forum was held simultaneously in golden Lotus Hall. Guozhong Zhou, Vice President of Green Development Alliance and Zhouyang Ren, Associate Professor fromSchool of Electrical Engineering, Chongqing University presided over the forum.
The summit focused on energy transition and innovation for carbon neutrality, bringing together the world's top experts and scholars in the field of energy, conducting academic exchanges on renewable energy, energy Internet of things, integrated energy system, green and low carbon and other cutting-edge hot spots, and jointly explored the innovative solutions to climate change. It will not only provide a platform for experts and scholars from different countries to cooperate in scientific research, professional discussion, project docking and talent training, but also promote the innovation and development of global clean energy technology and help realize the beautiful vision of carbon neutrality.
