Online lecture presented by Prof. Changyun Wen, IEEE Fellow from Nanyang Technological University

On the morning of March 20, 2021, Professor Changyun Wen of Nanyang Technological University was invited to deliver a speech, with the title Hierarchical Decentralized Optimization Architecture for Economic Dispatch: A New Approach for Large-Scale Power System. This academic lecture was jointly organized by the School of Electrical Engineering of Chongqing University, the State Key Laboratory of Power Transmission Equipment and and System Security, and the Chongqing Electrical Engineering Society, and was hosted by Ren Zhouyang, Dean Assistant of the School.

Before the report officially started, on behalf of the school, Prof. Ren expressed a warm welcome to Professor Wen's participation in the "Online Lecture Hall" and briefly introduced the main speaker to the audience. During the lectures, Prof. Wen first gave an overall introduction about drawbacks of the centralized model and limitations of existing distributed algorithms.

Then he illustrated a 3-layer hierarchical decentralized optimization structure for a large-scale multiarea economic dispatch and carried out several case studies, which proof the good convergence and computation speed of the proposed algorithm.
